Pure Hemp CBD Review
Pure Hemp offers an extensive product selection of traditional CBD oils, capsules, and topicals, as well as less common products like protein powders, sunscreens, and shampoos. The majority of their CBD oils are THC-free, although some full-spectrum products are available. All products are sourced from non-GMO, 100% organic hemp grown in the United States.

Pure Hemp Company History
The Pure Hemp company mission is to provide affordable, potent CBD products that are safe and high-quality. All of their products are made in the USA from non-GMO hemp. The company stands out for its huge product selection, ranging from traditional CBD products like tinctures and capsules to haircare and protein powders.
Rivaling their massive selection of CBD products is their equally large trove of educational content. Pure Hemp regularly blogs about CBD industry news, especially as they relate to newly discovered health benefits of CBD. They also offer a detailed Buyer’s Guide, Videos, and FAQ section where they share the basics of how to use CBD, and their products specifically.
Pure Hemp products are available on their website, through wholesale and affiliate partners, and in a number of retail locations throughout the U.S.
Pure Hemp is based in Los Angeles, CA.
Hemp Farming and Sourcing Practices
Pure Hemp partners with American farmers to source their hemp. The company is a part of One Native, an organization that promotes pesticide- and chemical-free farming. All of the hemp they use is certified organic, pesticide-free and non-GMO.
To extract their CBD oils, Pure Hemp uses the CO2 extraction process. Generally considered the safest and most efficient method for extracting CBD, this process involves exposing carbon dioxide to high pressures and very low temperatures in order to separate the CBD from the plant material.
Next, Pure Hemp submits all of their products to a third-party lab for testing and analysis. Once the lab confirms the safety and potency of the CBD, Pure Hemp prepares the products for distribution.
Pure Hemp Product Selection
Pure Hemp sells over a hundred CBD oils, capsules, vapes, edibles, sprays, beauty, protein, pain relief, and pet products. The company offers both full-spectrum CBD and CBD isolates.
Full-spectrum CBD describes the hemp extract after extraction. After the initial extraction, this oil extract contains a high concentration of CBD, along with other beneficial elements from the original plant material. These may include amino acids, essential oils, terpenes, vitamins, and other cannabinoids, like CBN, CBL, and THC. The THC content in CBD oils is always 0.3% or less, because the products are sourced from hemp (which naturally has lower, trace amounts of THC). So, even though full-spectrum CBD may contain THC, as long as it’s below 0.3%, it’s considered legal throughout the U.S. and incapable of producing a high.
Full-spectrum CBD is often touted as a preferable version of CBD oil, since it’s believed that the presence of additional plant materials enables the CBD to be more effective at providing therapeutic relief. Moreover, many of these plant materials serve as health supplements in their own right, such as the vitamins, essential oils, and amino acids.
However, some people prefer to take CBD in its isolate form, which describes most of Pure Hemp’s product selection. After extraction, the oil undergoes additional processing to be formed into CBD isolate. This refers to the extract containing 99% pure CBD—and no THC. As a result, CBD isolates are extremely unlikely to cause a false positive on a drug test for marijuana, although it may still happen. With a CBD isolate, users can enjoy the benefits of CBD, without worrying about the risks of THC.
In addition to their vast selection of CBD oil products, Pure Hemp also sells branded merchandise like beanies, hats, bags, and apparel.

Pure Hemp sells both CBD isolate and full-spectrum CBD tincture drops, in six different strengths:
- The CBD isolate tincture is available in 500mg and 1500mg strengths.
- The full-spectrum tincture is available in 1000mg, 1500mg, 2500mg, 3500mg, and 5000mg strengths.
Each strength can be purchased unflavored, or in a mint version (from natural mint flavoring). All tinctures come in 30ml bottles.
|Tincture Strength||Type||Amount of CBD per Serving|
|1500mg||Isolate and Full-Spectrum||30mg|
Pure Hemp’s CBD tinctures can be administered in three ways. You can apply the dose under your tongue, and hold for 30 to 60 seconds before swallowing. You can also mix the dose in with your food or drink. Finally, you can use the tincture as a topical, applying the dropper to your skin and massaging the oil in.
In addition to their traditional tinctures, Pure Hemp also sells a CBD Anointing Oil, for those who want to incprorate CBD into their religious practice. Besides the hemp extract, the Anointing Oil also includes myrrh and cassia oils, to aid in wound relief, arthritis, and depression. Additional ingredients include olive fruit oil and cinnamon leaf oil.
Pure Hemp also sells CBD capsules. Resembling a typical dietary supplement, these offer a no-frills way to take your CBD, just like a daily vitamin. All of their CBD capsules are flavorless, so they won’t have a hemp taste. Pure Hemp recommends taking one capsule daily, ideally with a meal.
The Pure Hemp capsules come in three varieties:
- A CBD isolate liquid capsule, with additional ingredients of MCT oil and hemp seed oil
- A CBD isolate powder capsule, with additional ingredients of rice flour, vegetable cellulose, magnesium stearate, and silicon dioxide
- A full-spectrum CBD softgel, with additional ingredients of MCT oil, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, and silicon dioxide
Each CBD capsule contains 25mg of CBD, and comes in a 30-count bottle.
CBD Vape Products
Pure Hemp has a wide selection of CBD vape products, including both full-spectrum and isolate vape oils in a range of concentrations.
Their CBD vape cartridges come prefilled with either 100mg or 200mg of CBD isolate, with an 80/20 VG/PG base and natural flavoring. There are four flavors: Pineapple Express, Fruit Rocks (like the Fruity Pebbles cereal), Skunk Haze (strong with a pine flavor), and Swapple (apple). As standard 510-threaded 1ml cartridges, they should be compatible with a majority of vape pens, but if not, you can buy one of Pure Hemp’s compatible 510 batteries with included charger.
Pure Hemp also sells four flavors of their CBD e-liquids, which contain varying amounts of CBD with a VG/PG base and natural food-grade flavoring.
- The Passion Fruit and Banana Split contain 150mg of CBD isolate.
- The Mixed Berries contains 500mg of full-spectrum CBD.
- The most potent flavor, Citrus, contains 1500mg of full-spectrum CBD.
To use the CBD e-liquids, you can either entirely fill your own vape cartridge with the bottle’s included dropper, or simply add in a smaller amount to mix with your own e-liquid.
Finally, Pure Hemp sells CBD products for dab users. Their CBD Shatter contains 1 gram of CBD isolate with added terpenes for a light, aromatic flavor. There’s also their CBD Isolate Hemp Slab, which is flavorless and easier to form into a precise dose. Either of these can be added to a dab-or e-rig. Finally, there’s their CBD Isolate Hemp Powder, which is also odorless and flavorless. As a powder, this can be added to a dab rig or vape cartridge, as well, or mixed in with ingredients while cooking meals.
For those who need something flavorful to mask the taste of hemp, Pure Hemp offers an assortment of CBD edibles.
Pure Hemp’s CBD Gummies are fun and fruity. Not only do these come in six different flavors, but they come in different shapes, too. Pure Hemp sells Watermelon Rings, Sour Worms, Peach Rings, Mixed Fruit, Cherry Bombs, and Yummy Bears. Each gummy contains 15mg of CBD isolate each, and comes in a 30-count bottle. The Yummy Bears, which are vegan, also come in a 25-count bottle.
Besides the CBD, each gummy contains a mix of additional ingredients to create the flavor, including corn syrup, sugar, and artificial flavoring and coloring. The ingredients vary by flavor, and may be gluten- or fat-free in some cases. Pure Hemp recommends taking 1 to 2 gummies daily and chewing thoroughly before swallowing.
Pure Hemp’s CBD Lollipops are sold in single-packs. Each lollipop includes 50mg of their CBD isolate, with natural flavoring created from fat-free, gluten-free, and vegan ingredients—although that does include corn syrup and cane sugar. Flavors include Watermelon, Sour Apple, Sweet Strawberry, and Tangy Orange.
Pure Hemp’s CBD Syrups are formulated to be sleep aids, with 10mg of melatonin added to 200mg of their CBD isolate. Flavors include Grape, Sour Apple, Cherry, and Blueberry. Additional ingredients include simple syrup, with natural flavoring, propylene glycol, and food coloring. To use, Pure Hemp recommends mixing 1 to 2 ounces in with a carbonated beverage, or taking 1 or 2 tablespoons directly, 30 minutes before bed.
Pure Hemp’s CBD Toothpicks are one of their more unique products. As you use a toothpick in between your gums, the CBD gets absorbed sublingually, allowing it to enter the bloodstream much more quickly than other CBD edibles (which must travel through the digestive system first). Each toothpick contains 25mg of their CBD isolate, and comes in a 10-count package. Flavors include Cinnamint, Lemon LIme, and Orange.
Pure Hemp also offers a selection of CBD sprays. In addition to 60mg of CBD isolate, each of these boasts a unique formula intended to produce specific effects:
- The Energy & Focus Spray has a citrus flavor and includes vitamin B-12, A, D, and E, along with a proprietary energizing blend of natural caffeine, glucuronolactone, and resveratrol.
- The Anti-Stress & Relaxation Spray has a mixed berry flavor and includes calming natural ingredients like SunTheanine and GABA.
- The Weight Loss Spray has a salted caramel flavor and includes ingredients designed to boost metabolism, like potassium, fruit rind extract, and hydroxycitric acid.
- The Pain Relief Spray has a mocha flavor and includes natural pain relievers like turmacine, coconut oil, sunflower lecithin, and potassium sorbate.
- The Health and Wellness Spray has a mint flavor and is the “purest” CBD of the sprays, containing no other ingredients.
- The Sleep Spray has a mint flavor and includes natural sleep aid melatonin. Unlike the others, this spray should only be sprayed twice, 15 minutes before bed.
Pure Hemp’s CBD sprays include natural and artificial sweeteners like stevia leaf extract and xylitol. A serving size is 6 sprays, and each bottle should provide up to 10 servings. The entire bottle contains 60mg of CBD, so you get about 1.5mg with each spray. Pure Hemp recommends two sprays in the morning, two before lunch, and two before dinner.
CBD Protein Powders
Similar to their CBD isolate dab powders, Pure Hemp’s CBD Protein Powder appeals to those who want a way to measure out a precise dose of their CBD, without having to endure that characteristic “hemp” taste—and enjoy a protein supplement while they’re at it.
Available in two flavors, chocolate and vanilla, each container of Pure Hemp Protein Powder includes 16 serving sizes of 20mg of CBD isolate, 24g of grass-fed whey protein, and 4.5g of BCAAs (branched-chain amino acids).
For best results, Pure Hemp recommends mixing your serving with a glass of water of milk, stirring until it dissolves, and drinking 30 minutes before a workout to boost recovery.
CBD Beauty Products
Pure Hemp sells a substantive range of CBD skincare and beauty products, including anti-aging creams, moisturizers, lip balms, and hair care.
Their anti-aging CBD products include:
- Collagen Retinol + CBD Revive Cream, blending CBD with active ingredient retinol to brighten skin and reduce pores and UV damage

With any of these products, a small dime- or pea-sized amount should be applied to clean skin and rubbed into the area. The product can be used twice daily.
Pure Hemp’s line of CBD moisturizers include:
- Daily Skin Re-Energizer, using avocado oil as a natural sunblock to keep skin hydrated and protected from UV rays throughout the day
- Ultra Body Moisturizing Butter, with 20mg of CBD and a thick texture to trap in moisture and keep skin hydrated
- Moisturizing Sunscreen, doubling as a daily moisturizer and UV protector, with 20mg of CBD and SPF 30
- After Sun Care Cream, a 40mg CBD topical focused on relieving the pain associated with sunburns, rehydrating skin and soothing burned skin
Pure Hemp’s other CBD skincare products include:
- Skincare Facial Cleanser, combining the anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties of CBD with antiseptic peppermint essential oil and soothing aloe leaf extract to reduce irritation
- Skincare Facial Toner, a good next step after the facial cleanser to protect skin from makeup and sunscreen, while preventing breakouts (thanks to an extra boost from natural antioxidant witch hazel)
- CBD Dead Sea Mud Mask, containing 50mg of full-spectrum CBD and vulcanus kaolin, along with a roster of essential oils to rejuvenate and rehydrate skin, like green tea, chamomile, and cucumber extracts
- CBD Infused Lip Balms, available in peppermint and coconut lime flavors, with additional ingredients like organic coconut oil, organic beeswax, and vitamin E to moisturize skin and prevent dehydration and sun damage
Pure Hemp’s CBD hair care products include:
- Hair Growth Shampoo, combining 50mg of broad-spectrum CBD with AnaGain, an ingredient from organic pea sprouts which may help stimulate hair growth
- Hair Growth Conditioner, likewise containing 50mg of CBD, to be used after the shampoo
- Hair Growth Treatment Mask, containing 100mg of CBD, to be massaged directly onto scalp and allowed to sit for up to 30 minutes
- Hair Growth Leave In Solution, enriched with 100mg of CBD, Vitamin E, and AnaGain to be massaged through dry or towel-dried hair
Pure Hemp does not specify the amount of CBD in a majority of their CBD products—with the exception of those where we’ve noted the amount.
Pure Hemp offers a selection of CBD topicals designed to alleviate pain and stress and induce relaxation and relief. These include:
- Hemp Intensive Healing Relief Rub, comprised of 10% emu oil, CBD isolate, and essential oils to reduce muscle tension and inflammation. It’s available in two strengths: 75mg (60ml) and 500mg (112ml).
- Freeze Cold Therapy Relief Rub, with 50mg of CBD isolate and active menthol for cooling topical relief.
- Super Strength Salve with 150mg of CBD isolate, along with rosemary, calendula, and arnica extracts to heal broken skin and bruises, relieve painful inflammation, and lower cortisol.
- Relief Roll On Gels, which are available in two varieties. The Pain Relief version includes 100mg of CBD isolate, along with arnica extract and menthol for targeted pain relief or dry or rashy skin. The Lidocaine version includes 500mg of full-spectrum CBD, along with arnica extract and 4% Lidocaine.
All of these products should be applied no more than 4 times daily.
Besides their pain relief products, Pure Hemp offers even more CBD topicals catering to different users.
For those seeking relaxation, there are their Bath Bombs. These each contain 40mg of CBD and come in one of three scents: lavender, lemon, or peppermint. The bath bomb should be added to a full bath of very hot water. Once the bath has cooled down to a comfortable temperature, the person should soak for 30 minutes.
Pure Hemp also offers a Radiation Relief Cream. This contains 40mg of CBD and is formulated to relieve the skin damage and inflammation cancer patients incur during radiation therapy. It can be applied twice daily.
Finally, their Tattoo Aftercare Cream combines 40mg of CBD with soothing avocado oil to keep newly tattooed skin hydrated and protected from UV rays, enabling tattoos to heal faster and reduce itching. Pure Hemp recommends consulting your tattoo artist first before using on fresh tattoos.
CBD for Pets
While not as varied as their selection for humans, Pure Hemp offers a wide array of CBD products for dogs and cats to relieve chronic pain associated with arthritis, soothe separation anxiety and upset stomach, and promote skin and coat health.
Pure Hemp’s CBD Pet Drops use the same CBD isolate as their tinctures for humans. Available in a single 250mg strength, each full dropper contains 5mg of CBD. Drops should be applied twice daily, administered directly to your pet’s mouth, or sprinkled in their food.
Pure Hemp’s CBD Pet Treats come in a 30-count bag and contain 5mg of CBD each, mixed with calming valerian root, ginger root, and passion flower. Pure Hemp recommends one treat for pets weighing less than 15 pounds, and two for those over 15 pounds, limited to two servings daily.
Pure Hemp’s CBD Pet Sprays offer a quick way to administer CBD to your pet, without turning them off with a hempy flavor. Since each spray offers a lower dose of CBD, you can also achieve more precise dosing with the sprays than with their pet tinctures. These can be sprayed directly into your pet’s mouth or onto their food. The CBD Pet Sprays come in 4 formulas, with different concentrations of CBD and additional ingredients that target different conditions:
- Pet Food Spray: This bottle contains 100mg of CBD, while a serving size of 6 sprays contains 3.5mg of CBD. Pure Hemp recommends 2 sprays for pets under 25 pounds, and 4 sprays for those weighing over 25.
- Anti-Stress Pet Spray: This bottle contains 60mg of CBD. Each serving size of 6 sprays includes 1.5 mg of CBD, 50mg of SunTheanine, and 20mg of GABA to relieve anxiety.
- Joint Pain Pet Spray: This bottle contains 60mg of CBD. Each serving size of 10 sprays includes 1.5mg of CBD and 200mg of Turmacin (an ingredient derived from turmeric to alleviate joint pain).
- Health & Wellness Pet Spray: This bottle contains 60mg of CBD. Each serving size of 6 sprays includes 2mg of CBD, 30mg of Potassium, and 150mg of hydroxycitric acid to relieve nausea and regulate stress.
Pure Hemp’s Pet Shampoo contains 20mg of CBD to help condition your pet’s coat, and reduce irritation or dryness. To use, measure out some of the shampoo and mix with water before working into a lather with your hands and applying to your pet’s fur.
Finding the best dose of CBD for your pet largely depends on their weight. For a detailed dosing chart, check out our guide to CBD oils for pets.
Our Take on Pure Hemp
Here’s a recap of the pros and cons of Pure Hemp. We understand some of these may matter more or less to you, so read below for more details.
Visit Pure Hemp via the link below:
Pure Hemp’s product selection is substantial. They have all the traditional offerings CBD users expect, like tinctures and capsules. They also have a wide variety of trendy CBD products like toothpicks, sprays, and facial masks.
Putting the “pure” in Pure Hemp, most of the company’s products are THC-free CBD isolates. Although, they do have a handful of full-spectrum tinctures, capsules, vapes, and topicals to suit those who prefer more cannabinoids with their CBD.
While Pure Hemp’s product selection includes a range of strengths, from low to high, their product selection is so varied and large, that it might be overwhelming to a first-time user of CBD. For that reason, it may be a better match for more experienced users of CBD, whether they enjoy taking CBD as part of a general wellness regimen or if they use CBD to help manage symptoms from a chronic health condition.
All of Pure Hemp’s CBD oils are extracted from 100% organic, pesticide-free, non-GMO hemp grown in the United States.
The company also takes care to simplify their ingredient list where possible. Although, in the case of topicals and many of the edibles, this may be simpler said than done. Many of the CBD edibles include both natural and artificial sweeteners, which may be a concern for some customers.
Pure Hemp provides a full ingredient list for a large number of their products, but not all. For instance, the bath bombs don’t list out any ingredients beside the amount of CBD.
Pure Hemp partners with Green Scientific Labs and Cannalysis Headquarters to test the potency and safety of their CBD products.
Each product page offers a link to download the third-party lab report, although some of the links were broken at the time of writing. However, the Certificate of Analysis for every single product is listed and available for download on their Lab Reports page.
While Pure Hemp is extremely transparent with their ingredients lists and third-party test results, there are a few areas for improvement. For example, they don’t specify the amount of CBD for many of their beauty products. Moreover, “PCR Hemp Oil” is listed in the middle of the ingredients list, which may suggest that these products don’t contain too high an amount of CBD.
One other cause for concern is that their CBD Anointing Oil contains 0.04% THC. This is just slightly above the federally legal limit of 0.03%, so you’ll want to check the laws in your state to ensure this product is legal where you live.
Pure Hemp offers unflavored and flavored versions of many of their products, so you’ll be able to find something you like—whether that’s unadulterated CBD tincture in all its hempy glory, or a more palatable mint-flavored tincture or flavorless capsule.
The company regularly hosts “sample parties,” where they perform user research on their flavors to ensure they taste good.
Ordering and Shipping Process
Pure Hemp ships to all 50 states and various worldwide locations. The company offers free shipping for orders over $75, $5.99 shipping for domestic orders totaling less than $75, and a flat $15 shipping rate for international orders.
Pure Hemp takes longer than most companies to ship out their orders, promising fulfillment within 5 business days of being placed (and an additional 2 to 7 business days after that for arrival). There is no option to upgrade to a faster shipping rate.
Despite the huge selection of products, the Pure Hemp website makes shopping easy. Visitors can navigate, filter, and search to find specific products. Each product page includes a link to the test result, a full list of ingredients, as well as an instructional video on how to consume the product.
The Pure Hemp customer service team is available via email, phone, and web form. Their hours are not listed.
Pure Hemp has a somewhat strict return policy. Returns must be initiated within 15 days of receiving the order, and the customer must cover the cost of return shipping. Damaged or defective items can receive a free replacement, but the customer service team must be contacted within 7 days to receive a full replacement. Refunds are processed within 3 to 6 business days.
If you’d like to purchase their products in person, you can find a store near you using their convenient store locator.
Pure Hemp describes affordability as a part of their mission, but at $0.09 to $0.16 per mg, their tinctures fall more around the industry average, cost-wise. As for their other products, the cost per mg varies widely, from $0.07 to over $3.00.
However, the company does offer free shipping for orders over $75, and runs regular flash deals with steep discounts. For example, at the time of writing, everything on the site was 50% off.
Ultimately, Pure Hemp’s true value is in the variety of their product selection. No matter what kind of CBD product you’re interested in, you’ll probably find it at Pure Hemp. You’ll also discover new ones you didn’t realize you needed, like CBD toothpicks or a Dead Sea Mud Mask.

The 25 Best CBD Oils for Sale
Sign up for our email newsletter for the latest science news
CBD oil is one of the hottest industries out there, and with the rise in demand comes a rise in supply.
Since CBD was legalized in late 2018, hundreds of new companies have cropped up to sell CBD oil to the masses. And for good reason: People around the world are using CBD in a variety of ways to improve their overall health and wellness.
If you’re hoping to reap the greatest benefits from CBD oil, it’s important to buy a quality product, but it’s not always easy to discern which CBD oils make the cut and which don’t. For one thing, it’s hard to know how to compare CBD oils. You want to get the highest quality product for your money, but how do you know you’re buying from a company you can trust?
How to choose the best CBD oil
Important factors to consider when buying CBD oil include potency, purity, value and quality, as well as where the CBD has been sourced from. Other areas to take into account are the company’s customer-service and business practices.
For instance, CBD products don’t legally have to be tested for purity and proper THC levels, but the best companies do so to ensure quality and transparency. Trustworthy companies are also careful not to make wild or unfounded claims about their products. Instead, they offer thoughtful and straightforward descriptions and let their customers be the judge.
To help consumers who are interested in purchasing CBD oil, CBD Scout has created this comprehensive guide of the 25 best CBD oils for sale right now. You can rest assured that these brands check all the boxes when it comes to producing the best CBD oil currently available on the market.
Verma Farms is the highest quality CBD Oil we’ve come across, and we’ve seen a lot. The ingredients are top-notch. Everything is completely natural, organic, and use broad-spectrum CBD. Furthermore, we have no idea how they could make a CBD oil taste so good, but they did. The company brings a “Hawaiian approach” to making their CBD oils, which is shown through their fun and playful branding. They also have a deep respect for nature, as they use only sustainably grown hemp for their extracts.
The broad-spectrum CBD oil that Verma Farms produces comes in a variety of distinct formulas, with their oil pack being the most popular. These are named after their intended uses: Chill, Focus and Boost. Each is made with all-natural ingredients to help you relax, regain your mental clarity or heighten your energy levels.
If you’re looking for the highest-quality CBD oil on the market, Verma Farms is your brand.
Named the #1 best CBD oil by both Rolling Stone and Merry Jane, Penguin has the cleanest and most potent oil on the market. Having analyzed their lab reports, we can’t help but agree.
Penguin sets themselves apart from the rest by offering a well-rounded selection of high-quality CBD products at affordable prices. They go above and beyond with crafting their products — something that’s all too rare in the CBD market.
To begin with, they use only the best possible ingredients to formulate their broad-spectrum CBD oil, which strikes a balance between giving consumers the benefits of the “entourage effect” while avoiding the potential risks of THC.
Because all of Penguin’s products are completely THC free, you can maintain peak mental performance while accessing the health and wellness benefits of CBD, without worrying about triggering a bad result on a drug test from ingesting THC.
Penguin’s CBD oil comes in four different potencies and five refreshing flavors, so you can find the just the right combination to fit your needs and tastes.
Another plus is that all of Penguin’s CBD oil comes from hemp farmed in Oregon, and the quality of their products is backed up with independent lab testing. This means that their CBD-infused products have zero pesticides or other harmful chemicals.
CBD Scout loved Penguin’s delicious CBD gummies, which are the perfect combination of sweet and tangy. Their CBD capsules are a great option for anyone looking for convenient and portable CBD dosages. And if you’re seeking to gain the benefits of CBD applied directly to the skin, their CBD cream has the soothing, anti-inflammatory benefits you’re looking for.
Penguin is all about creating a well-informed and supportive online retail space that offers lots of in-depth information and consumer education about CBD. Their website is easy to navigate, and provides detailed information on each product. All orders ship for free (a big plus in our book!), and they have a generous 30-day return policy for all products. They also have highly responsive and friendly customer service.
Medterra is a top-rated brand that uses CBD isolate to create products that are 99 percent pure. Their oil is grown and extracted under a set of strict guidelines issued by the Kentucky Department of Agricultural Industrial Hemp Pilot Program.
Their oil is distinctive for its lack of color, flavor or scent, giving it a neutral taste. This is a plus for users seeking a minimal sensory experience or for those who have a hard time swallowing flavored or strong-tasting hemp oil. Reviews say their tinctures help with anxiety and sleep issues, although they may not be as potent for chronic pain.
Leaf Remedys CBD oils are sub zero extracted from the highest quality organically grown Colorado hemp. The advantage of this extraction method is that a high-quality hemp plant can become a full spectrum extract without any further extractions resulting in a more preserved and purer Full Spectrum oil retaining all the natural cannabinoids and terpenes. High quality full spectrum extract is a much more promising therapeutic choice than an oil extracted using other extraction methods and chemical processing which results in a full spectrum oil more known as a distillate Full Spectrum that is not as effective as a true Full Spectrum like leaf remedys full spectrum. They also offer an Broad Spectrum oil for those with THC sensitivity or are worried about the small THC content in Full Spectrum oil due to employment reasons. The THC is removed from their Broad Spectrum oils with an organic process which preserves a lot of the cannabinoids and terpenes. Leaf Remedys is a brand dedicated to the cause and proud to offer an all-American product at a very fair price. Their oils are offered at 500mg, 1000mg, and 2000mg strengths. They also offer a 1000mg CBD gel, and 50mg Full Spectrum CBD Gummies which is one of the highest on the market.

12. Lazarus Naturals
Lazarus Naturals is another brand that has consistently produced a quality product and has been recognized by industry experts. The Oregon-based company has been around for a while now, and they have grown tremendously. They keep their selection of products small, but they continue to offer reasonable prices for their CBD oil.
They do third-party testing and rigorous quality control on their products. The company is also heavily involved in lobbying on behalf of the hemp-growing community. One thing to note is that the flavor of their French vanilla oil can be a bit strong for some.
Populum, taking their name from the Latin ad populum (“for the people”), aims to make CBD benefits accessible to everyone. This Arizona-based brand is a higher-end option. Although their products don’t come cheap, reviewers approve of the product’s orange flavor and the friendly customer service.
The company manufactures “full-spectrum hemp oil,” meaning it contains many cannabinoids and compounds found in cannabis. Populum CBD is sourced from organic, Colorado-grown hemp. Just be aware that none of its products are guaranteed to have no THC, though all are below 0.3 percent THC.
14. NuLeaf Naturals
NuLeaf Naturals likes to keep things simple. This Colorado-based company grows their own organic hemp and they offer a CBD oil with just two ingredients. Their CBD oil has a strong hemp flavor, with nothing to cover up the natural earthy taste of cannabis. Even its product bottles are more functional than pretty.
However, their CBD oil checks all the boxes when it comes to quality and transparency. Because these products are highly concentrated, applications are geared toward the therapeutic, rather than mood or lifestyle enhancement.
15. Charlotte’s Web
Charlotte’s Web is one of the most recognized CBD brands out there, thanks in part to their origin story. Their high-CBD, low-THC strain was cultivated to help the Figi family treat their daughter, Charlotte, who had a severe seizure condition. Charlotte’s story has profoundly impacted the cannabis industry, and the company is still popular and beloved today.
They are sometimes dinged for being more expensive than comparable products, and for having customer service that’s a little on the slow side. However, when they do respond, their answers are always friendly, helpful and thorough.
16. Spruce CBD
Spruce may be one of the less well-known brands in the CBD space, but they offer one of the highest potency CBD oils available on the market. They claim that the “bitter stuff is the effective stuff” as they go boldly without flavor. This approach may not suit everyone, but it does offer an authentic experience for those who appreciate it.
Spruce also stresses the importance of building good relationships with their farmers in order to provide a consistent, quality supply of hemp extract. It’s always nice to buy from a company that promotes a sense of community, listens to feedback and wants to help people feel better.
CBDistillery cannabis has a loyal following of people who swear by their CBD oil. They offer a 99 percent pure CBD isolate that customers have used to address a number of chronic conditions. CBDistillery employees seem passionate and knowledgeable, and they offer a low-price option for first-time CBD users. The only big check against them is they don’t state where their hemp is sourced from, just that it’s grown in the U.S.
18. Receptra Naturals
Receptra Naturals is dedicated to creating a high-quality CBD oil made from premium ingredients. They are also working to give back to communities and educate the public about the benefits of CBD.
Based in Greenwood Village, Colorado, the company sources all its hemp from Colorado family farms. The farmers use organic methods to cultivate the plant and then handpick the hemp flowers at harvest time. Their oil is only extracted from the flowering parts to ensure its purity and quality.
19. Veritas Farms
Veritas Farms is a Florida-based company that farms and processes its hemp in Pueblo, Colorado. A publicly traded company, Veritas Farms distributes its products in over 1,500 U.S. stores thanks to major deals with Kroger, CVS and Southeastern Grocers.
Despite its large-scale production, Veritas Farms has successfully scaled to a high level of production without sacrificing quality. If you have food sensitivities or health concerns, be aware that they do have undisclosed ingredients in the CBD oil — the phrase “natural ingredients” is included on the label for flavored CBD tinctures. Inquire more about these ingredients if you have any concerns.
Fab CBD tends to emphasize their appeal as a lifestyle brand, using labels that scream modern and hip. However, they have established themselves as a trustworthy brand with a quality product. Reviewers of Fab CBD products have noted that their citrus flavor can be a little overwhelming, and their oils aren’t always as potent as those of other brands, but their products are affordable and they get the job done. Their CBD oil is sourced from organically grown Colorado hemp.
21. Re-Live Everyday
Re-Live Everyday is a Pennsylvania-based company that is Autism Approved through its partnership with the Autism Hope Alliance. This is a well-rounded company that is focused on supporting the health of its customers.
The brand has sourced its hemp from multiple locations throughout the United States, including Colorado, Oregon and Minnesota, with a current emphasis on Minnesota farming. The company sells its products through third-party retailers on the East Coast, as well as through its online store.
22. Hemp Bombs
While most CBD oil products offer 5-7 mg of CBD per serving (or less), Hemp Bombs’ max-strength tincture provides a massive 60 mg dose in a single dropper, which naturally comes with a massive price.
This brand isn’t necessarily for everyone, with 300 mg being the lowest potency it offers. They also have a commercialization agreement with hemp farms under the Kentucky Pilot Research Program.
Kanibi offers moderate pricing, excellent customer service and a high level of transparency when it comes to their hemp sourcing and lab results. Kanibi launched its CBD brand with a focus on “care and precision,” and their high-quality CBD oils reflect this mantra.
Their clean, uncluttered site is easy to navigate, and they have detailed shipping and contact-information pages, so you can feel secure with each purchase. Their conscientiously crafted CBD is sourced from organic, Kentucky-grown hemp.
24. 4 Corners Cannabis
4 Corners Cannabis was founded in 2013 in Durango, Colorado. The company is dedicated to using only material that it grows and extracts itself, so they control every step of the manufacturing process to ensure product quality.
Individuals who are concerned about the use of CO2 or hydrocarbon solvents in the extraction processes will be glad to know that 4 Corners Cannabis uses a sugarcane extraction method. In addition to their unique extraction process, 4 Corners Cannabis sets itself apart through its exceptionally allergy-conscious practices.
25. Joy Organics
Joy Organics is still fairly new to the CBD scene, but they’re working on making a name for themselves. This family-run company is based in Fort Collins, Colorado, and they produce high-quality, great-tasting CBD oils.
Their CBD oil is sourced from hemp that is grown and processed in the U.S. and verified by stringent testing to create extremely effective full-spectrum supplements. Their oil is THC-free, and they offer friendly customer service.
Bonus: Mission Farms CBD
Founded in 2018, Mission Farms CBD has established itself as a provider of quality CBD products. This is an Oregon-based brand that controls its products through each manufacturing step, starting with growing their own hemp in Oregon’s dry climate, east of the Cascades, to hand-harvesting and pressing.
The CBD is safely extracted via the ethanol extraction method. The only thing we wish they offered is free shipping.
Bonus: Pure Hemp Botanicals
Pure Hemp Botanicals is a Colorado-based company that provides CBD products using only organic, sustainably grown hemp. They are a company that has been around for a while, and they know what they’re doing. They take transparency seriously, with lab reports available on their website.
During manufacturing, Pure Hemp Botanicals utilizes the most natural processes possible in order to minimize their carbon footprint, starting from the growth of the cannabis plant all the way through the final stages of manufacturing. Unfortunately, their shipping costs are a little high and they have a strict return policy.
Bonus: Tikun Hemp
Even though Tikun Hemp is a newcomer to the CBD scene, their roots are deeply embedded in the medical marijuana industry. Tikun Hemp was started by the famous Tikun Olam, the world’s first organization licensed to produce and distribute medical cannabis. Tikun Hemp is a California-based company that creates THC-free, broad-spectrum CBD oils.
They use ethanol to extract cannabinoids from their Colorado-grown hemp, and use a blend of oils to carry the CBD in their tinctures. The company has a 30-day return policy and offers free shipping on all orders, but won’t ship to Nebraska, South Dakota or Idaho.
When you think of Utah, the first thing to come to mind is probably not CBD oil, but Hemplucid aims to change that. Hemplucid says it stands out from its competitors because it produces whole-plant CBD oil that contains no artificial colors or flavoring.
While their CBD oil is a little more expensive than most, they focus on transparency and offer quality CBD oils sourced from hemp plants that are grown on certified organic farms in Colorado. Their website is user-friendly and easy to navigate, with an information section that may be educational for new CBD users. While Hemplucid’s customer service can be a bit erratic, the company does offer free shipping.
Frequently Asked Questions about CBD Oil
What is CBD?
Cannabidiol, or CBD, is a chemical compound naturally found in the genus of plants known as cannabis. It belongs to a larger family of compounds known as cannabinoids.
Are there any benefits to taking CBD oil?
The research surrounding CBD is currently ongoing, so there aren’t a lot of conclusive studies yet. So that means no real claims can be made as towards benefits. However, the results have been extremely promising so far.
Does CBD get you high?
No, taking CBD will not make you high. Contrary to some confusion surrounding the topic, it doesn’t produce any sort of psychoactive effects like THC (tetrahydrocannabinol).
What’s the difference between CBD and THC?
CBD and THC are both compounds commonly found in cannabis. THC is known for its psychoactive effects. Meanwhile, CBD does not have any effect on a user’s mental state. CBD is often considered the opposite of THC, as it restores the body back to homeostasis and sobers the mind.
Hemp and marijuana are two different strains of cannabis. Hemp has higher levels of CBD, while marijuana has stronger concentrations of THC. This makes hemp a more hardy and versatile plant. Aside from CBD products, it is also used to produce textiles, clothing, fuel, food products, bioplastics, and a range of other materials and goods.
Is CBD legal?
In the United States, CBD is legal at the federal level. That means it can be produced and distributed across the country as long as it’s made with USDA-certified hemp. Yet, some states have more stringent laws than others, particularly when it comes to THC levels. The vast majority of states are friendly towards CBD products, though.
It varies even more on a global level. There are still many countries where CBD oil is restricted to only medical use or outright banned entirely. That’s why it’s a safe idea to check before travelling outside of the country with CBD products in your luggage.
Do I need a prescription for CBD oil?
In most cases the answer is no, you do not need a prescription to take CBD. However, there are still a small handful of states that require you to have a medical prescription or join a program in order to purchase CBD products.
How do you take CBD oil?
CBD oil can be taken in a number of different ways. Some people simply take it orally via a dropper, and hold it under their tongue for about 60 seconds before swallowing. Other people mix it into their food and drink to make it more palatable. The only drawback to the latter is that it takes longer to enter your bloodstream, and you might not absorb quite as much CBD in the end.
How much CBD should I take?
Everybody reacts differently to CBD, so there really isn’t a universal dosing recommendation. The best approach is taking the suggested serving size and then adjusting it to suit your needs. Some people need a stronger dose than others to achieve the effects they desire.
Where can I buy CBD oil?
The most reliable place to buy CBD oil is online. Most brands sell their products directly from their website. They also frequently offer special deals and discounts exclusive to their online stores, making it one of the most cost effective routes.
CBD oil can also be bought in many physical locations across the country. This includes convenience stores, pharmacies, gas stations, vape shops, health and wellness stores, and many other brick-and-mortar retail stores.
How do I store CBD oil?
CBD oil should be stored in a safe place away from any heat, moisture, or direct sunlight. For most people this would be a cabinet in their kitchen or bathroom, or a dry pantry. Overall it’s best to keep it somewhere that stays around or below 70 degrees Fahrenheit on average. This will keep the oil from degrading too quickly.
Some people in warmer and more humid climates tend to store their CBD oil in their refrigerator. This is another solid option, although it may cause the oil to thicken over time. If that ever happens, you can just run the outside of the bottle under a tap until it regains its original consistency.
Does CBD oil expire?
Yes, CBD oil has a shelf life. It is typically between 12-24 months, with the latter being the usual case if the oil is properly stored. Thankfully CBD oil doesn’t become toxic if it spoils, but it will lose most of its potency.
Is CBD oil vegan friendly?
A majority of CBD oils are vegan, but not all of them are. So if you adhere to a vegan diet, it’s best to check the list of ingredients first before making a purchase.
What is CBD isolate?
CBD isolate is a form of CBD extract in which only the cannabidiol remains after it is processed and distilled. It’s often the preferred form of CBD for people who want to be certain that there’s zero THC in the products they consume.
What is full-spectrum CBD?
Full-spectrum is another type of CBD extract. It retains the full spectrum of compounds found in hemp, including the THC. Some people prefer it because it creates an “entourage effect” which makes the various compounds even stronger than they would be isolated.
What is broad-spectrum CBD?
Broad-spectrum is a form of CBD extract that’s between CBD isolate and full-spectrum. While it removes all traces of THC entirely, it still keeps the other beneficial compounds such as terpenes, phytocannabinoids, and flavonoids.
Will CBD make me fail a drug test?
It depends upon the type of CBD. Full-spectrum has a chance of causing complications with drug tests, as it still contains around a 0.3% amount of THC. CBD isolates and broad-spectrum CBD should be safe, on the other hand.
Can I vape CBD oil?
There are quite a few brands that make CBD oil that can also be used in vaporizer devices. These oils tend to have vegetable glycerin as a carrier, instead of MCT oil or hemp seed oil.
One Final Note
Before you make any purchasing decisions, keep in mind that CBD works differently for everyone, and while many people talk about the potential health and wellness benefits of hemp extracts, there’s no scientific consensus. CBD clinical research is still in its infancy.
Many people love how the products make them feel, but you should be careful if you are trying to self-treat a serious condition. If you do have a serious medical condition, we recommend speaking to your doctor to see if these products are right for you.
