How to Make Vape Juice from CBD Isolate in 6 Easy Steps

Do you want to make vape juice from CBD isolate? If YES, here are 5 basic ingredients you need to make vape juice from CBD isolate and how to do it quickly. Note that in some states with recreational laws on marijuana use, it is easier to find vape juice produced from cannabis. In these states, you can also purchase pure CBD isolates, which means there are no other cannabinoids in the mix.

What is Vape Juice?

Vape juice, sometimes referred to as CBD e-liquid (or simply CBD vape oil), is a general term use to describe a CBD oil made for use with a vaporizer. People call pre-filled cannabis CBD oil cartridges e-liquid, CBD vape juice, or CBD e-juice.

However, unlike pure CBD oils that you find in a bottle, vape juices are usually made with propylene glycol (PG) or vegetable glycerine (VG) – thinning agents that make the “juice” liquid enough to work with the heater coils found on a vape pen.

What is CBD Isolate?

CBD isolate is the purest form of CBD in its concentrated form. It is primarily a CBD extract from hemp plants with all the plant components, including oils, waxes, terpenes, chlorophyll and other cannabinoids filtered out. What you have left is a fine, white powder that contains 99+% pure CBD.

However, to isolate CBD, the extraction process is expected to be followed thoroughly. Note that what this process does is to remove all the plant material from the extract and leave you with pure CBD. Full – spectrum CBD gotten from hemp contains 0.03% THC, which itself is a negligible amount and does not make the CBD psychoactive by any means.

Hence, CBD isolate contains absolutely no THC, making it the preferred option for those who want the effects of CBD without a trace of THC getting in their system. Simply put vaping CBD will provide you with the benefits of hemp without getting you “high”.

CBD isolate can be bought from many different places. Always be sure you are getting your CBD products from a trustworthy source to ensure that it is of the highest quality. Making your own vape liquid with CBD isolate is easier than you think. If you have the proper ingredients and some tools, you are good to go.

5 Ingredients Needed to Make Vape Juice from CBD Isolate

Note that you can make a regular vape juice (without nicotine) with just a few ingredients: a carrier such as vegetable glycerine, propylene glycol, or MCT oil and flavourings. Below is a breakdown of each ingredient so you can get a better understanding of what is actually in your vape juice.

1. Vegetable glycerine

Vegetable glycerine (VG) is better known as a sugar alcohol made from plant oils. This ingredient is made by heating up plant oils under pressure, which then separates the fatty acid components from the glycerol portion. As an end product, it produces a sweet, odourless, viscous liquid known as glycerine.

Have it in mind that most vape juices today contain vegetable glycerine as the major ingredient because it allows vaporizers to produce the thick smoke most people desire. It also comes with a hint of sweetness to it, although it is not enough to be a sweetener by itself.

Also note that vegetable glycerine has less of a throat hit, which may or may not appeal to some vape users. A “throat hit” is known as the harsh or scratchy feeling you get when inhaling smoke. There are some people who crave this feeling while vaping because it gives them the smoking sensation. But if the throat hit is not particularly important to you, then vegetable glycerine might be ideal because it is highly hypoallergenic and therefore suits most vape users.

2. Propylene glycol

This alcohol is more or less similar to vegetable glycerine because you can use it as a carrier for the vape juice. A lot of vape juice in the United States contain just vegetable glycerine, just propylene glycol, or a mixture of both. Note that the key characteristics of propylene glycol are that it holds on to flavour much better and gives a better throat hit, but the vapours are thinner than those from VG. The result is a smaller or thinner vape cloud which tastes great.

The PG is that similar VG, which is why the two are sometimes used together to get the best of both worlds. In addition, PG functions as a preservative, which helps to increase the life of the vape juice. Nonetheless, some people find that they are allergic to propylene glycol, so that is something you should be cautious about when trying out PG products. Swollen gums, sore or dry throat, sinus problems, and rashes are signs of an allergic reaction to PG.

3. MCT Oil

The acronym MCT simply stands for medium – chain triglyceride, and this carrier is mostly used as an alternative to PG and VG. Triglyceride is a technical name for fats. These are fats that gotten from foods such as coconut oil or palm kernel oil.

The majority of vape juice manufacturers use MCT oil that comes from coconuts. This oil is an extremely concentrated source of medium – chain triglycerides. This oil is produced through a man – made process called fractionation. The resulting MCT oil is odourless and flavourless which is why it makes a great carrier for vape juices.

4. Terpenes

Terpenes are natural aromas and flavour which producers derive from various plants (including hemp). According to reports, there are approximately 20,000 different terpenes existing with over 100 of them coming from hemp. Note that terpenes are not only ideal for adding flavour to vape juice but they also possess beneficial properties. Just like cannabinoids, terpenes can bind to receptors in the brain and body to stimulate effects. This essentially is the science of aromatherapy.

Note that when you add terpenes to a vape juice they help to supply the body with the “entourage effect”. It simply means when the CBD and terpenes work “synergistically” to achieve a combining effect greater than any single ingredient would provide. Some vape juice producers use terpenes to add natural flavour back into the product.

5. Flavourings

According to industry data, there is said to be over 7,000 different vape flavours out there. Some of these are natural flavours and some are artificial. Note that the flavourings used in vape juice are non-oil based food-grade flavourings. It simply means the FDA approved the flavour for consumption but that leaves a lack of efficient research towards inhalation purposes.

These flavourings are derived from either a natural source (food or plant) or are artificially made by humans. Nonetheless, regular oil or essential oils should never be a component of any of the ingredients in vape juice because it is not safe to inhale and can cause lipid pneumonia.

How to Make Vape Juice from CBD Isolate in 6 Steps

For the sake of this article, we will be describing the ingredients and procedures needed to make a 30 ml vape juice from CBD isolate. The ingredients you will need include: 500 mg CBD isolate (≥99% pure), 15 ml propylene glycol, 12 ml vegetable glycerine, 3ml flavouring of choice (vape juice flavouring or terpenes), Blunt tip syringe, Double or triple – digit scale (reads 0.01/0.001), and a 30 or 60 ml empty vape juice container.

1. Pour propylene glycol into a clean, empty container

With the syringe, carefully measure out and add 15 ml of propylene glycol into the empty vape juice container. To get better flavour retention and throat hit, you can use a higher ratio of PG to VG, such as 70/30. For thicker smoke, you can flip the ratio and use more VG.

2. Add CBD isolate to the beaker

Carefully measure out 500 mg (0.5 grams) of CBD isolate. Also carefully add the isolate powder to the container holding 15 ml PG. Put the cap on the glass container holding the PG and CBD isolate mixture.

3. Mix propylene glycol and CBD isolate together

At this point, shake the container vigorously until the CBD isolate has fully dissolved into the PG. Note that it may take a minute of shaking or longer to fully dissolve the solution. The mix should be a consistent liquid form with no crystal portions left.

4. Add vegetable glycerine

Still using the blunt syringe, carefully measure out and add 12 ml of vegetable glycerine into the mixture. This is a crucial component of vape juice that gives it the thick smoke. Ensure to mix it in well as some of it can stick to the sides of the container. Make sure you mix the components thoroughly until you unify the solution.

5. Add flavourings

Have it in mind that this is the most important part of the vaping experience: the flavour. You can choose any flavour of your liking and carefully add 3ml of it into the solution you have created. Give it some time to let the flavour mix in thoroughly with the rest of the solution.

6. Package and Store your solution

Immediately you are done with the steps above, the only thing left to do is transfer your newly made vape juice into your vape tank and store the rest. The best place to store it is either in the refrigerator or a cool, dark space, as this will extend the life of your CBD vape juice.

Making your own vape juice with CBD isolate is easier than you think. If you have the ingredients and the tools mentioned above, then you are good to go. However, when making vape juice from CBD isolate, always ensure to use the best ingredients because you don’t want to be inhaling something you should not.
